OR
"You Just Need To Want It Bad Enough..."
It almost makes me sick to even say that cause I've heard those lies so many times. And the sad part is I could go on and on with even more lies your upline has been telling you.
...but I've made a separate lesson for those that you can view since you're already logged in to the members area.
So first things first, the reality is that times have changed. And more importantly, society as a whole has changed.
So to start with, breathe a big sigh of relief because if you aren't experiencing results in your business, it's not you.
The rules have changed. And if you're still using the "old methods" of building your business, you're following methods that simply just won't work in today's society.
That's a fact…it's that simple.
Now if you're wondering what I mean when I say society has changed, let me share that with you first because then you'll quickly see why the "old methods" of building your business just simply don't work anymore.
And for that, let me start with a question -
How much different is the world of today than the world of even just...say...15 years ago for example?
A LOT, right?
In today's day and age, people simply don't want to be bothered. Period.
In fact, think about everything that has been created (including an act of Congress) to help you and I block un-wanted information (and people) from our lives...
- TIVO™ allows people to eliminate TV commercials
- XM™ and other satellite radio providers take listeners away from local radio and also greatly reduce the number of ads users receive
- "Do Not Call" List - An act of Congress that stopped telemarketers
- SPAM Filters
- Pop-Up Blockers
The list could go on and on.
The reality is that we now live in a "new" society that teaches us to be more and more guarded and picky on who we allow "into our world" so to speak.
And after all, who could blame us, right?
I mean it seems like every time I turn on the news, there's another story about some type of crime... A store was robbed, a man was fleeced out of his life savings.
And then you've got companies out there that have basically stolen almost everything from their shareholders and employees.
Or what about identity theft? I'm willing to bet you right now that you couldn't get through a primetime show these days without a commercial for a company offering you "protection" so you will be able to "get your life back" when your identity is stolen.
Kind of makes you paranoid, doesn't it?
Even think about how much advertising noise is out there these days...
You probably don't even realize how bad it actually is so I pulled the statistic...
And according to the Ad Council, the average American is marketed to over 6,000 times PER DAY!
6,000 times… wow, huh?
SO... what's the result of all this, and what in the world does it have to do with building your business?
Well...to be blunt - A TON.
Because - whether consciously or subconsiouly - this new world affects you in almost every way.
You become numb to advertisements and offers, and you become even more skeptical about the offers that you DO "notice".
Make sense?
So when it comes to recruiting for your business, your prospects are no different.
Because when you try to recruit them using the "old methods" like cold calling, hounding your friends & family and circle of influence, handing out flyers and sizzle cards, buying opportunity leads and genealogy lists, and so on...you're using methods that I've already shown you are openly detested by our society.
And then thanks to the enormous amount of advertising noise your prospects deal with, the "old methods" give you almost NO chance of even getting your prospect's attention in the first place...let alone keeping it long enough to sell them on joining you.
That's why you struggle. It's not your fault, alright?
You're trying to compete in a world where you've been taught the complete wrong set of rules.
I'll even prove it to you...
Think about your own life. You even hate the in-your-face "old methods" of marketing too.
I mean have you ever hung up the phone on a telemarketer?
Or what about a door-to-door salesman...how annoying, right?
But pitching your opportunity using the "old methods" puts you in the exact same category as these solicitors, door-to-door salesmen, and others - all of which I've just proved are openly detested by our society.
So the cold hard reality is that until you learn how to succeed in today's modern society by learning the new rules, you'll continue to struggle trying to build your business.
